At the Health Sciences Centre, we are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide therapeutic, diagnostic, and technical respiratory therapy services to patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide respiratory therapy services to patients with a range of respiratory conditions, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, and pneumonia.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests, such as spirometry and arterial blood gas analysis, to assess respiratory function.
  • Develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and respiratory therapists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest respiratory therapy techniques and technologies, including ventilator management and non-invasive ventilation.
Requirements:
  • Current registration with the Medical Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta and Registered (MARRT) required.
  • Minimum one year of experience in respiratory therapy, preferably in a critical care setting.
  • Knowledge of critical care ventilators, including High Frequency devices, and home ventilatory assistive devices, such as Trilogy ventilators and NPPV devices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to patient-centered care.
