Job Summary

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will provide therapeutic, diagnostic, technical, and teaching respiratory therapy services to patients. You will work under the general supervision of the Manager and adhere to the employer's mission, values, and management philosophy.

Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory therapy services to patients, including therapeutic, diagnostic, and technical interventions.
  • Develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans for patients.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Conduct respiratory assessments and provide education to patients and families.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of respiratory therapy policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Entry-to-practice academic credential in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited Canadian program or a MARRT approved equivalent.
  • Current registration with the MARRT required.
  • Current registration/membership in the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) is preferred.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Recent and related clinical experience.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other disciplines and demonstrate professional judgement and initiative.
  • Knowledge of the physiological, social, cultural, and economic aspects of patient care.
Physical Requirements
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity are required.
  • Ability to stand and walk and perform manual ventilation with one or both hands for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to run to emergencies.
  • Ability to lift heavy medical equipment.
  • Ability to push wheeled medical equipment.
