About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Operations Manager to join our team at Avon Building Maintenance Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hire, Supervise, and Schedule Staff: Lead and manage a team of maintenance staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to perform their duties effectively.
  • Plan and Direct Grounds Maintenance: Develop and implement plans for the maintenance and upkeep of our grounds, including landscaping, hardscaping, and other related tasks.
  • Plan and Estimate Labour and Materials: Conduct thorough assessments of maintenance needs and estimate the required labour and materials to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Organize and Direct Construction Projects: Oversee the construction of decks, decorative or retaining walls, and other related projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Maintain Work Records and Logs: Accurately record and maintain all maintenance-related activities, including work orders, inventory, and equipment maintenance.
  • Repair and Maintain Equipment: Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and repaired, minimizing downtime and ensuring optimal performance.
  • Requisition or Order Materials, Equipment, and Supplies: Procure all necessary materials, equipment, and supplies to support maintenance operations.
  • Resolve Work Problems, Provide Technical Advice, and Recommend Measures to Improve Productivity and Product Quality: Troubleshoot maintenance-related issues, provide expert advice, and implement strategies to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Establish Work Schedules and Procedures: Develop and implement efficient work schedules and procedures to ensure seamless maintenance operations.
Certifications, Licenses, Memberships, and Courses
  • Canadian Nursery Landscape Association (CNLA) certification
