SUMMARY

The Engineering Institute of Canada is seeking a dedicated professional to oversee intricate planning operations for equipment arrangements within various facilities, including production and administrative environments. This role is pivotal in optimizing the use of resources such as facilities, machinery, materials, and workforce to enhance operational efficiency through the execution of the following responsibilities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

  • Fostering a culture of safety and promoting improvements in key safety metrics, emphasizing effective systems, cleanliness, and positive behaviors.
  • Encouraging a mindset of continuous enhancement and Lean Sigma practices while supporting organizational initiatives.
  • Delivering expert solutions and services aimed at enhancing client performance, collaborating with Business Development and Engineering teams to create value.
  • Designing process machinery, facilities, components, and systems for metal recovery, enhancement, and aggregate production.
  • Coordinating operational and maintenance support for systems during field installations.
  • Utilizing computer-aided engineering and design tools to execute engineering assignments.
  • Preparing financial justifications and capital expenditure summaries for all initiatives.
  • Providing project management and field engineering support on-site.
  • Overseeing construction personnel during the installation and modification of stationary equipment.
  • Supervising the installation of plants, machinery, and ancillary equipment.
  • Developing initial plans in accordance with established engineering standards, relevant building codes, and national safety regulations.
  • Assessing the performance of processing equipment against acceptable applications and maintenance costs.
  • Drafting component specifications for procurement purposes.
  • Reviewing and approving all proposals for plant components and installation contracts.
  • Estimating and summarizing costs related to projects, plants, equipment, and installations.
  • Authorizing deviations from specifications and drawings.
  • Creating comprehensive layouts for material flow and environmental considerations.
  • Calculating all necessary utility requirements for processing steel mill by-product materials.
  • Gaining familiarity with PLC controllers.
