The Emergency Department at AHS is a dynamic tertiary care unit that operates continuously, every day of the week. This facility serves as a prominent Trauma Centre, offering a variety of opportunities in emergency nursing, including Pediatrics and Trauma Care. Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) in this department work within a state-of-the-art environment equipped with advanced electronic tracking systems, where they assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for emergency situations. Collaborative decision-making is essential in this multidisciplinary healthcare environment. As part of your responsibilities, you may be required to cover various Emergency areas as directed by the Unit Manager or Charge Nurse. Description:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you play a vital role within an interprofessional healthcare team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Your actions will be informed by your education, experience, demonstrated competencies, and adherence to AHS policies and procedures. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver safe, high-quality patient and family-centered care while embodying the vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Eligibility for registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
