The Emergency Department is a busy tertiary care level I department, open 24/7, providing opportunities in a broad range of emergency nursing, from pediatrics to trauma care. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will work in a state-of-the-art facility, utilizing an electronic tracking system, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for emergency patients in a collaborative multidisciplinary healthcare team environment.
Description:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will be part of an interprofessional healthcare team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level, and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP)
Additional Required Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year emergency nursing experience. Demonstrated excellent assessment, organizational, and patient care skills required. Ability to communicate findings in a concise and accurate manner. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Must be able to identify own learning needs and seek guidance in professional practice where knowledge deficits occur. Responsible to provide proof of active registration with the CLPNA and to maintain registration throughout the duration of employment.
