The Opportunity:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) role will be serving the community of SHASTA CARE COMMUNITY in EDMONTON, AB. The LPN is responsible for ensuring top resident care is a priority, with a high level of focus in time management.

  • Growing Clinical Mentor Care Partner skills to be effective advocates for the Residents in helping them achieve the highest practicable physical, mental, and spiritual well-being possible.
  • Performs duties and services required and Supports the Resident's lifestyle in accordance with the Resident's individualized Care Plan as authorized by Homecare.
  • Provides medication assistance to the Residents, according to current Well-Being Strategies
  • Mentors and delegates nursing tasks to Care Partners as per accepted practice standards and Wellness Strategies
  • Identifies health, safety, or maintenance issues, and reports as required.
  • Ongoing monitoring and continuous quality improvement and adherence to safe work practices
  • Provide impartial support and excellent relationship building skills to nurture, understand, and respect residents, families, visitors, and external Care Partners to ensure the vibrancy of our
  • Liaising with Doctors, Pharmacists, Homecare Nurse, Manager, families, and any other people required to facilitate the highest care for the Resident.
  • Participates in ongoing educational programs to update knowledge on applicable topics.
  • Attains and maintains ongoing compliance with appropriate local, provincial, and federal regulatory

Foundational knowledge and experience to grow from:

  • Must be a graduate of a recognized LPN program.
  • Must be registered and in good standing with their related Licensing Body (CLPNA)
  • Must hold valid certification in First Aid and CPR
  • Prior to employment, obtain a clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector check.
