Key Responsibilities:

  • Site Assessment and Inspection: Conduct regular inspections and assessments of mechanical systems and equipment to ensure they are operating efficiently and safely.
  • Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs or coordinate with maintenance teams to resolve complex mechanical problems promptly.
  • Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment.
  • Technical Support: Provide on-site technical support and guidance to field personnel and ensure adherence to best practices and safety standards.
  • Project Coordination: Assist in the planning and execution of mechanical upgrades, modifications, and new installations, ensuring they meet technical specifications and safety regulations.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of inspections, maintenance activities, and repairs. Prepare and present reports on equipment performance and maintenance activities.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with other engineering teams, operations staff, and contractors to ensure seamless integration and operation of mechanical systems.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in a mining or heavy industrial environment.
  • Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, hands-on mechanical expertise, and proficiency in diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of mechanical systems, equipment, and maintenance practices relevant to the mining industry.
  • Certifications: Professional Engineering (P.Eng) designation or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • Personal Attributes: Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
