Railserve Mechanic Job Description

At Railserve, Canada, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Railserve Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our locomotive fleet.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance on locomotives to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues in a cost-effective manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including preventative maintenance sheets and invoices.
  • Comply with company safety policies and procedures, and wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Conduct regular safety assessments on equipment and suggest administrative or engineering controls to mitigate safety hazards.
Requirements:
  • Associate degree or equivalent in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive mechanical experience, with electrical experience preferred.
  • Valid Driver's license and ability to operate cutting torch and electrical welder.
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical instructions, and effectively communicate with colleagues and management.
Working Environment:

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent travel to company and customer locations. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
