Your Role as a Senior Analyst, Credit Risk
As a Senior Analyst specializing in Credit Risk within our Digital Banking division, you will play a crucial role in managing credit risk through comprehensive modeling, monitoring, reporting, and analytics. Your responsibilities will include:
- Gaining a thorough understanding of available data to effectively execute your duties.
- Developing, validating, executing, and refining risk, loss, and revenue models, including probability of default models for IFRS 9 and risk scorecards.
- Conducting periodic and ad-hoc analyses on extensive datasets using advanced data analytics tools such as Python, SAS, SQL, BIG Query, and Power BI, while generating insightful reports on model and portfolio performance.
- Utilizing cutting-edge analytics to provide insights and forecasts on credit risk-related topics, making data-driven recommendations regarding credit strategy and methodologies.
- Collaborating with external teams to implement recommended changes in processes and products related to credit strategies and forecasting models.
- Designing and automating dashboards, including executive-level dashboards, utilizing state-of-the-art technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Your role will encompass a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
- Developing and monitoring risk, loss, and revenue models.
- Assisting the credit risk team in formulating underwriting criteria for retail lending products.
- Supporting the integration of models and strategies into production systems in collaboration with technology teams.
- Maintaining comprehensive documentation for reports, models, and strategies.
- Tracking the performance of credit strategies.
- Conducting model performance evaluations and validations.
- Performing credit risk analytics and collaborating with senior team members to develop strategic recommendations.
- Forecasting losses and reporting on portfolio performance.
- Identifying issues proactively and conducting further analyses to address inquiries.
- Ensuring accuracy and timeliness in credit risk metrics reporting.
- Translating broad business inquiries into actionable analytical steps.
- Assisting senior team members in compiling analyses to create compelling narratives.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, or Economics.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in business analysis within financial services, particularly in retail lending.
- At least 1 year of experience in credit risk management.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:
- Experience with credit card and mortgage portfolios.
- Proficiency in designing dashboards using Microsoft Power BI.
- Experience in developing risk, valuation, and forecasting models, including machine learning.
- Familiarity with BIG Query.
- Power BI certification and experience with data manipulation in Microsoft Power BI.
