Engineering Business Unit Director

Moffatt & Nichol is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Engineering Business Unit Leader to lead the strategic growth of our Vancouver office. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for guiding the development of our business unit, driving growth, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality projects to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement a comprehensive business strategy to drive growth and expansion in the Vancouver market.
- Lead a team of experienced professionals to deliver high-quality projects, ensuring timely completion, and exceeding client expectations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to drive business growth and collaboration.
- Manage and develop a team of engineers, planners, and scientists to ensure they have the necessary skills and resources to deliver projects successfully.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to ensure the business unit's financial performance is aligned with company goals.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, developing and executing capture plans to secure new projects and clients.
- Collaborate with other business units and departments to share best practices, resources, and expertise to drive business growth and innovation.
- 20+ years of experience in the consultancy addressing planning, engineering design, infrastructure development, project management, client service, and business development.
- Professional Engineer registration (P.Eng) in Vancouver or ability to receive through reciprocity within 6 months.
- Demonstrated leadership experience overseeing projects, staff, and client relationships.
- A solid reputation with private sector clients as well as local and state government agencies, and a knowledge of coastal, water resources/stormwater, ports, marine terminal, transportation, energy, environmental, federal, or urban development markets throughout Vancouver.
- Proven success directing design and construction of a wide range of civil engineering infrastructure projects.
- Proven success in leading people and managing resources.
- In-depth understanding of Vancouver's infrastructure and resiliency markets as it relates to M&N's three Practice Areas: Water, Ports, and Transportation.
- Master's degree in Civil, Coastal, Water Resources/Stormwater or Structural Engineering or Economics, Planning.
The majority of work is office-based. Sedentary for prolonged periods of time, interact with clients, and travel occasionally.
