Position Overview

As the Retail Operations Assistant Manager, you play a crucial role in shaping the image of our company. Your exceptional leadership abilities and retail expertise will set a standard for your team, while you assist in managing the department in alignment with corporate standards. Collaborating closely with management, you will work towards achieving the store's goals and supporting the retail team.

This role involves working alongside the Supervisor and taking responsibility for scheduling and training, among other tasks, to ensure that the retail operations are efficient and effective during the operational season.

The Retail Operations Assistant Manager serves as a customer service ambassador, providing guidance and training in customer service excellence to the retail team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspire and motivate your team to achieve their best.
  • Develop staff schedules, ensuring that team capabilities are aligned and adequate.
  • Support initiatives related to Workplace Health and Safety, WHMIS, WCB, and company policies.
  • Ensure all team members fulfill training requirements using comprehensive training checklists, aiming for proficiency in our POS system and extensive product knowledge.
  • Oversee the operations of retail locations.
  • Ensure adherence to cash control procedures; conduct end-of-day cash reconciliation.
  • Monitor and enhance sales performance and productivity.
  • Manage inventory processes including purchasing, receiving, unpacking, pricing, and displaying products post-POS entry.
  • Oversee product presentation and store layout.
  • Review and authorize bi-weekly payroll for staff.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Retail Supervisor.

  • Comply with the company's policies and procedures as outlined in the Corporate Policies, Employee Handbook, and Safety Operations and Retail Training Manuals.
  • Understand and adhere to workplace policies.

Qualifications:

  • Prior supervisory experience is essential.
  • Strong retail and customer service skills are required.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and perform well under pressure, especially during peak times or when addressing challenging customer service issues.
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly in Excel and reporting systems.
  • Excellent organizational capabilities.
