Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant to join our team at the Cancer Agency in Victoria. As a key member of our administrative team, you will provide high-level administrative support to our oncology clinic, ensuring the smooth operation of our daily activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and staff, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage and coordinate appointments, tests, and other clinical activities, ensuring seamless communication with our clinical team.
  • Prepare and distribute reports, documents, and other materials as required, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Assist with the preparation of research documents and grant applications, providing administrative support to our clinicians.
  • Coordinate meetings, conferences, and other events, ensuring all logistical arrangements are made and executed efficiently.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of our team.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 graduation from a recognized secretarial program, including a recognized course in medical transcription, and three years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to keyboard at 50 wpm and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively, demonstrating strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position, including standing, walking, and lifting.
  • Ability to organize work, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada, as per TRC and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act.
