About the Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health is seeking Registered Cardiology Technologists across the province. The Registered Cardiology Technologist is responsible for performing various noninvasive cardiac diagnostic tests, including Electrocardiograms, Signal Average Electrocardiograms, Ambulatory Monitoring (Holter Scanning/Interpretation Event Loop Recorder), and physician-assisted Exercise Tolerance Testing (Stress Testing). The Technologist prepares patients for ambulatory monitoring, which involves a non-invasive device worn by patients for 24 hours (Holter) or several weeks (Loop). Additionally, the Technologist prepares patients for stress and tilt table testing, conducting stress tests under the direct supervision of the Cardiologist. The Registered Cardiology Technologist will also play a key role in precepting and mentoring new learners within the department.

About You

We are eager to hear from candidates who possess the following qualifications:

  • Completion of Grade 12 and a successful Cardiology Technology program or an acceptable equivalent.
  • Current registration and good standing with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists.
    • In the absence of qualified candidates, consideration may be given to those currently enrolled in a Cardiology Technology program. If offered employment, placement will be on the Unregistered Cardio Tech scale.
  • Current BLS (HCP) certification.
  • Recent clinical experience in an ECG Department with demonstrated proficiency in performing EKGs, Holter Monitors (including scanning), Stress Testing, ambulatory blood pressure monitors, and assisting in Pacemaker/ICD clinics.
  • A strong sense of initiative and responsibility.
  • Ability to adapt to a flexible workload and manage stressful situations.
  • Competencies in additional languages are an asset, with French preferred.

Hours
  • Various sites and community-based locations throughout Nova Scotia. You will be asked to specify your work location preferences during the application process.
  • Shifts may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Travel to other sites may be required.
Compensation and Incentives

$30.83 hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for a benefits package that includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
