Nova Scotia Health is seeking Registered Cardiology Technologists throughout the province. The Registered Cardiology Technologist is responsible for conducting various non-invasive cardiac diagnostic tests, including Electrocardiograms, Signal Average Electrocardiograms, Ambulatory Monitoring (Holter Scanning/Interpretation Event Loop Recorder), and physician-assisted Exercise Tolerance Testing (Stress Testing). The Technologist prepares patients for ambulatory monitoring, which involves a non-invasive monitoring device worn by patients for 24 hours (Holter) or several weeks (Loop). Additionally, the Technologist is tasked with preparing patients for stress and tilt table testing, performing stress tests under the direct supervision of the Cardiologist. The Registered Cardiology Technologist will also play a vital role in precepting and mentoring new learners in the department.
About YouWe are eager to hear from candidates who possess the following qualifications:
- Completion of Grade 12 and a Cardiology Technology program or an acceptable equivalent
- Current registration and good standing with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists
- In the absence of qualified candidates, consideration may be given to those currently enrolled in a Cardiology Technology program. If offered employment, placement will be on the Unregistered Cardio Tech scale.
- Current BLS (HCP) certification
- Recent clinical experience in an ECG Department with demonstrated proficiency in performing EKGs, Holter Monitors (including scanning), Stress Testing, ambulatory blood pressure monitors, and assisting in Pacemaker/ICD clinics
- Strong sense of initiative and responsibility
- Ability to adapt to a flexible workload and manage stressful situations
- Competencies in additional languages are an asset, with French preferred

$30.83 hourly
