Role Overview

The Treasury Operations Manager will oversee the organization's treasury management functions as outlined below. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player, capable of working autonomously in a dynamic environment, with excellent communication skills and a willingness to innovate and enhance existing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Financing

  • Analyze capital markets and provide insights on potential market opportunities.
  • Track the organization's outstanding debt and its performance in secondary markets.
  • Assist the treasury director in accessing capital markets, including common shares, preferred shares, debt, and hybrid issuances.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to treasury operations (e.g., prospectuses).

Banking Relationships

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with banking institutions for credit and banking arrangements.
  • Evaluate bank syndication performance against benchmarks.

Cash Management

  • Develop consolidated cash flow forecasts for the organization; collaborate with various business units to assess cash requirements and availability.
  • Manage liquidity, special transactions, foreign currency requirements, and intercompany loans.
  • Oversee letters of credit and credit facilities, monitor compliance with covenants, and prepare quarterly compliance reports.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Formulate currency policies and monitor all currency exposures.
  • Conduct M&A accretion analysis.
  • Lead analyses on WACC, intrinsic value, and share buybacks.
  • Develop strategies to minimize treasury-related expenses.
  • Collaborate with reporting and Investor Relations teams on public disclosures related to treasury matters.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Treasury management.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial markets and treasury operations, preferably within the insurance or financial services sectors.
  • Proven team management capabilities and exceptional leadership qualities.
  • Strong presentation skills and experience interacting with senior leadership.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Experience with public company reporting.
  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is essential due to regular interactions with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
