Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Hotel Front Desk Clerk to join our team at Chebucto Inn. As a key member of our front office team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest service, managing room reservations, and ensuring a smooth and efficient check-in and check-out process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guest Services: Register arriving guests, assign rooms, and provide information on hotel facilities and services.
  • Room Management: Take, cancel, and change room reservations, maintain an inventory of vacancies, reservations, and room assignments.
  • Customer Communication: Answer telephone calls, relay messages, and provide general information about points of interest in the area.
  • Payment and Billing: Process guests' departures, calculate charges, and receive payments.
  • Clerical Duties: Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, and assist with clerical tasks such as faxing, filing, and photocopying.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless guest service and resolve any issues that may arise.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Work Setting: Hotel, motel, or resort environment.
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Personal Suitability: Excellent oral and written communication skills, client focus, dependability, and team player attitude.
Work Conditions
  • Work Hours: 30 hours per week.
  • Work Language: English.
  • Work Term: Permanent.
