Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team at Steele Hotels. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of hotel staff, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining a high level of operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Staff Management: Supervise and coordinate the activities of hotel staff, including scheduling, payroll, evaluations, recruitment, and discipline.
  • Guest Services: Maintain high standards of customer satisfaction by ensuring prompt and courteous service, resolving guest complaints, and addressing their needs in a timely manner.
  • Front Desk Operations: Oversee the front desk area, ensuring that all guest requests are handled efficiently and effectively.
  • Group Bookings and Meetings: Manage group bookings for banquets and meetings, monitoring numbers and providing quotes as required.
  • Inventory Management: Order supplies, track inventory, and complete monthly end counts and controls.
  • Quality Control: Perform routine spot checks of housekeeping inspections to ensure high standards of quality.
  • Event Management: Supervise banquet room set-ups and tear-downs, and assist as required.
  • Administrative Tasks: Maintain organized files and records, assist with budget preparation, and coordinate with accounts payable and receivable.
Requirements
  • Education: Degree or diploma in Business, Marketing, Tourism, or Hotel Management (an asset).
  • Skills: Exceptional communication, organization, and leadership skills, experience with Excel, budgeting, and reporting structures.
  • Attributes: Organized, able to multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment, knowledge of Firestar system (an asset).
