About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Communications Specialist to join our team at Irving Oil Limited. As a key member of our communications team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing effective internal and external communications strategies that support our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute detailed communications plans to address corporate communications issues impacting our business.
  • Collaborate with various teams to inform, advocate, and consult on communications initiatives.
  • Build relationships with key internal stakeholders to support various initiatives and develop internal communication proposals.
  • Provide direction and guidance to multiple internal stakeholders regarding appropriate internal communication tactics.
  • Develop clear, timely, and effective employee communications striving for relevant, informative, inclusive content.
Requirements
  • University degree in a related discipline (e.g. Public Relations, Communications, Journalism).
  • Three to five years of progressive experience in a similar role; energy industry or journalism experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications, analytical and research skills, with an understanding of business principles and drivers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, fluid, multi-tasking environment with an extreme attention to detail and an enthusiastic attitude.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian Press Style guidelines is considered an asset.
  • Digital competency using online/multimedia channels and strong technical skills related to online tools such as SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and email marketing software.
