About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Communications Specialist to join our team at Irving Oil Limited. As a key member of our Communications team, you will play a critical role in developing and executing strategic communications plans that drive engagement and connect teams across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive communications strategies to address corporate communications issues impacting our business.
  • Collaborate with various teams to inform, advocate, and consult on communications initiatives.
  • Design and execute detailed communications plans, including events and activities, to ensure consistent and effective approaches.
  • Develop high-quality written materials that represent our company's brand voice and demonstrate creativity, attention to detail, and storytelling talent.
  • Build relationships with key internal stakeholders to support various initiatives and develop internal communication proposals that achieve their objectives.
  • Provide guidance and direction to internal stakeholders on internal communication tactics and assist with their execution.
  • Develop clear, timely, and effective employee communications that strive for relevant, informative, and inclusive content.
Requirements
  • University degree in a related discipline, such as Public Relations, Communications, or Journalism.
  • Three to five years of progressive experience in a similar role, with a preference for experience in the energy industry or journalism.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, and research skills, with a strong understanding of business principles and drivers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, fluid, multi-tasking environment with attention to detail and an enthusiastic attitude.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to form trusted relationships and maintain confidentiality.
  • Digital competency using online/multimedia channels and technical skills related to online tools such as SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and email marketing software.
