Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the business unit with ultimate accountability for P&L performance, service quality delivery, and profitable growth.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of the strategy to ensure service quality delivery, service excellence, and profitable growth within the unit.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team of senior specialists by recruiting, setting objectives, and reviewing performance.
  • Develop and implement the business plan for the unit, ensuring the team understands its role in achieving the plan's objectives.
  • Identify and target clients through the delivery of service excellence to drive organic revenue growth.
  • Develop enduring relationships with clients to understand their business needs and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Coach and mentor discipline managers and service managers to ensure all projects are set up for success and appropriate governance is adhered to.
  • Lead the identification of talent in the business unit and promote career development by directing individuals to appropriate development programs.
Requirements:
  • Licensed Professional Engineer or Architect in Canada.
  • At least 10+ years of experience leading and growing a significant business function within a professional services firm.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Technical knowledge to recognize and manage risk in running a design-led business unit.
  • Well-developed commercial skills with a sound knowledge of the industry and demonstrated entrepreneurial behavior.
