We are seeking a highly skilled Dietitian to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a Dietitian, you will play a critical role in providing expert nutrition advice and support to patients and clients across our healthcare system.
Key Responsibilities- Provide competent, safe, and ethical professional practice to patients and clients, families, and communities.
- Advise on diet and food and nutrition across all health sectors.
- Lead team efforts to support the nutritional health of patients, clients, and communities through health promotion, disease prevention, treatment, support, and rehabilitation.
- Participate in the Integrated Dietetic Internship program, including preceptoring Dietetic Interns.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition or Dietetics.
- 1 year of experience in diabetes-related fields, with a strong preference for experience in acute care or community settings.
- 3-5 years of recent experience in a related field, with a strong preference for experience in primary healthcare or rural settings.
- Completion of an approved Dietetic internship.
- Licensure with the Nova Scotia Dietetic Association.
- Eligibility for membership with the Dietitians of Canada.
- Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) certification is an asset.
- Experience working in a team environment and collaborating with healthcare professionals.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Long assignment full-time position (approx. 7-month term).
- 75 hours bi-weekly.
- Shifts include days, evenings, and weekends.
- Travel to various sites may be required.
$42.58 per hour.
Successful candidates may be eligible for our comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
