Healthcare Assistant

The Care Team Assistant plays a vital role in providing direct, hands-on care to patients based on their needs and program/unit requirements. Reporting to the Health Services Manager, this position works under the supervision or direction of regulated health professionals to support patients' activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living.
The Care Team Assistant reinforces patient and family teaching according to established guidelines and the plan of care. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and working collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.
About YouWe are seeking a skilled and compassionate Care Team Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have:
- Continuing Care Assistant Program certification
- Provincial Certification with the Department of Health and Wellness
- Current Basic Life Support Certification
- Effective listening and communication skills
- Competencies in other languages an asset, with French preferred
Where there are no applicants with provincial certification, the employer may consider candidates who are eligible to write the CCA knowledge exam and obtain certification within 1 year from their date of hire.
Hours and CompensationThis is a permanent, full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $23.71 - $25.70. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
