Position Overview:
Arcadis is expanding its team and is looking for an Environmental Site Assessment Technician to join our Environmental Division in Canada. This role can be based in various Canadian offices, with significant travel required to project sites across the region, alongside opportunities for travel throughout Canada.

Key Responsibilities:
As an Environmental Site Assessment Technician, you will be responsible for coordinating and executing tasks assigned by Project Managers related to environmental projects, including site assessments, risk evaluations, and remediation efforts. Your duties will encompass conducting site inspections, overseeing drilling and remediation operations, preparing field documentation, and collecting soil and groundwater samples, as well as drafting environmental reports. Specific responsibilities include:

  1. Thorough understanding of field protocols for soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling, along with oversight of drilling operations and subcontractor management.
  2. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of provincial and federal regulatory frameworks.
  3. Accurate interpretation of environmental data.
  4. Comparing sample results against relevant guidelines and standards.
  5. Compiling reports that detail the findings of investigation programs.

Qualifications & Experience:
A Technical Diploma or bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, earth sciences, or a related discipline is required. A minimum of 1 year of experience in soil, groundwater, or vapor sampling, as well as oversight of drilling activities and subcontractor management, is preferred.

Essential Skills:
Attention to detail and precision are paramount. Strong communication, interpersonal, and writing skills are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is also required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Possession of CTech or CET credentials, or eligibility for P.Eng. or P.Geo. designation, is considered advantageous.
