Clinical Laboratory Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our team at LifeLabs. As a Medical Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in the testing and diagnostic process for a wide range of patients.
Key Responsibilities- Unpack and sort incoming specimens from various sources, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Verify patient information on requisitions and specimen samples, resolving any discrepancies or inaccuracies prior to testing.
- Prepare, sort, and separate specimens for technical analysis, adhering to laboratory safety and security protocols.
- Respond to client inquiries and collaborate with the logistics department to ensure seamless operations.
- Train and orient new team members, promoting a culture of knowledge sharing and development.
- Perform routine maintenance of laboratory equipment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
- Conduct all work in compliance with laboratory safety and security policies and regulations.
- Successful completion or graduation from a recognized Medical Lab Assistant (MLA) program is an asset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Strong data entry and computer skills, with experience in laboratory operations or medical terminology an asset.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
