Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Medical Lab Assistant to contribute to our diagnostic processes. This is a Part-Time (Evenings) position that offers opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and categorize a variety of specimens from various sources, including healthcare providers and mobile technicians.
- Verify the accuracy of patient information on requisitions and samples, addressing any discrepancies before testing.
- Prepare and organize specimens for analytical procedures.
- Assist clients with inquiries and collaborate with the logistics team.
- Train and mentor new staff members.
- Conduct routine maintenance on laboratory equipment.
- Adhere to all safety and security protocols within the laboratory environment.
Ideal Candidate: The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and possess strong problem-solving and customer service skills. Key attributes include:
- Completion of a recognized Medical Lab Assistant program is advantageous.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced setting, with a focus on prioritization and multitasking.
- Proficient in data entry and computer operations.
- Commitment to staying updated with company policies and training.
- Experience in laboratory operations or familiarity with medical terminology is a plus.
