Impact of the Role:
The Clinical Specialist is responsible for providing expert clinical knowledge and leadership to ensure the effectiveness of our healthcare initiatives. This role involves developing and recommending program strategies, standards, and guidance documents that align with our organizational goals and health authority priorities.

The Clinical Specialist ensures that all clinical and operational strategies are centered around patient needs, reflect current evidence-based practices, and align with the strategic objectives of the organization and Ministry of Health policies. This position also plays a key role in quality improvement initiatives by offering clinical guidance in data interpretation and change management.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Regularly assess the clinical operating environment to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend priorities within established plans and strategies.
  2. Provide clinical expertise in the formulation of policies, processes, and operational strategies that ensure high-quality service delivery.
  3. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Ministry of Health policies and best practices to inform planning and implementation of initiatives.
  4. Collaborate with Clinical Operations to develop indicators for monitoring program outcomes and respond to evolving health needs.
  5. Engage with internal and external stakeholders to enhance program effectiveness.
  6. Support clinical educators by providing necessary clinical insights.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
  1. Bachelor's degree in a health-related discipline.
  2. Current registration with the relevant professional college.
  3. Five to seven years of relevant experience, including expertise in developing clinical practice documents and managing large-scale clinical projects.
  4. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Skills and Competencies:
  1. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and incorporate varied perspectives into planning.
  2. Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve complex issues.
  3. Proven leadership abilities to guide teams toward achieving shared goals.
  4. Capacity to implement meaningful change aligned with organizational values.
  5. Ability to analyze and synthesize evidence and statistical data effectively.
  6. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on collaboration.
  7. Physical capability to fulfill the responsibilities of the role.
  8. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and needs.
  9. Valid BC Driver's license and willingness to travel as required.
