Impact of the Role:

This position will provide specialized consultation services aimed at reducing hospital stay durations and enhancing patient healing.

Key Responsibilities:

The Clinical Practice Consultant - WOC will lead and advocate for a thorough Wound, Ostomy & Continence program for clients. This role will ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care by offering clinical guidance and expertise, education, and direction to interdisciplinary team members based on a specialized knowledge base. Collaboration with other NSWOC professionals will be essential, along with researching and evaluating current standards in wound, ostomy, and continence care. The consultant will also facilitate the creation and implementation of program policies, staff education initiatives, and quality improvement projects, all while incorporating evidence-based best practices.

Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing with current registration from the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Completion of the Wound, Ostomy & Continence Institute's specialized education program, along with three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A valid driver's license is required.
