Sinai Health is seeking an experienced administrative professional to provide high-level support to the Microbiologists in the Microbiology department.
About the Department of Microbiology:
The Department of Microbiology is a collaborative laboratory operation between Sinai Health and the University Health Network (UHN), recognized locally and nationally as a leader in microbiology.
We offer a range of high-quality microbiology services, from routine cultures and susceptibility testing to molecular diagnostic testing. Our medical and scientific staff continually develop new assays in response to clinical and research needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure efficient day-to-day functions for microbiologists
- Manage correspondence, including mail, referrals, and inter-Hospital correspondence
- Coordinate patient and visitor appointments, and maintain a properly functioning dictation system
- Schedule meetings, book space, and support meeting preparation
- Coordinate payroll, financial accounts, and cost centers
- Process payments, coordinate travel reimbursements, and manage office supplies
- Assist with other duties related to the position
Requirements:
- College diploma in a related field from an accredited educational institution
- Minimum five years of experience in an administrative support role, preferably in a clinic/healthcare environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with excellent work ethic, professionalism, and communication skills
