Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of Receptionist at Baine Johnston. This position is essential for ensuring smooth operations within our office environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Education: Completion of secondary school or equivalent experience is required.
  • Work Environment: The role is situated in a private sector, urban setting, specifically within a retail or wholesale distribution context.
  • Core Duties:
    • Welcome visitors and guide them to the appropriate contacts or service areas.
    • Provide essential information to clients and the general public.
    • Collect and process necessary information to facilitate customer service.
    • Manage the switchboard or telephone system effectively.
    • Document and communicate relevant information.
    • Coordinate and confirm appointments.
    • Issue invoices as required.
    • Maintain accurate work records and logs.
    • Handle payments and receipts.
    • Perform various clerical tasks, including filing, sorting, and distributing mail.
    • Answer phone calls and relay messages promptly.
    • Calculate billing charges accurately.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating a switchboard with 1-25 lines, as well as familiarity with word processing, accounting software, electronic mail, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Security Requirements: Basic security clearance and a criminal record check are necessary.
  • Transportation: Candidates must have their own means of transportation.
  • Work Environment: The position requires working in a fast-paced atmosphere with a strong emphasis on attention to detail.
  • Personal Attributes: The ideal candidate will possess efficient interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication abilities, flexibility, organizational skills, reliability, and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is considered an asset.
