Position Overview

The Product Owner for the Observability Platform will be pivotal in overseeing the development and management of EDC's monitoring solutions. This role entails the responsibility for the entire lifecycle of the Observability Platform, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of the organization.

Team and Objectives

The Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) division, under the guidance of the Chief Information Officer, was established to deliver secure and reliable digital experiences. The DTS team aims to:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive technology roadmap to support EDC's strategic transformation.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and integrate emerging technologies to enhance EDC's market relevance.
  • Ensure seamless digital, data, and cybersecurity implementations to improve user experiences.

Service Delivery & Resiliency Focus

The Service Delivery & Resiliency team is dedicated to improving technology accessibility and fostering strong relationships with business units to enhance their technological experiences. This team is tasked with creating a robust IT Observability Platform that integrates existing monitoring functions, automating observability for various workloads, and enhancing collaboration through real-time data analytics.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Oversee the Observability Platform, defining its framework and managing its operations, including metrics and service level objectives.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to refine the platform and ensure it aligns with EDC's strategic goals.
  • Implement strategies to enhance application performance and minimize downtime.
  • Facilitate the integration of data sources into the Observability Platform.
  • Conduct regular reviews of platform metrics and present findings to stakeholders.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience with monitoring technologies.
  • Experience in Agile methodologies and managing service delivery in an outsourced environment.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with a focus on customer-centric solutions.

Additional Assets

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Relevant certifications in ITIL, Agile, or Lean methodologies.
  • Experience with industry-standard monitoring tools and technologies.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French.
