About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Grounds Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Alpine Irrigation. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance of our grounds and ensuring that our facilities are well-maintained and safe for our employees and customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hire, Supervise, and Schedule Staff: You will be responsible for recruiting, training, and supervising a team of grounds maintenance staff to ensure that our grounds are well-maintained and meet our high standards.
  • Plan and Direct Grounds Maintenance: You will be responsible for planning and directing the maintenance of our grounds, including mowing, pruning, and other tasks as needed.
  • Plan and Estimate Labour and Materials: You will be responsible for planning and estimating the labour and materials required for grounds maintenance projects.
  • Plan, Manage, and Supervise Landscape Construction Work: You will be responsible for planning, managing, and supervising landscape construction work, including the installation of new plants, trees, and other features.
  • Maintain Work Records and Logs: You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records and logs of grounds maintenance activities, including hours worked, materials used, and other relevant information.
  • Tender and Administer Contracts: You will be responsible for tendering and administering contracts for grounds maintenance services, including negotiating prices and terms with contractors.
  • Requisition or Order Materials, Equipment, and Supplies: You will be responsible for requisitioning or ordering materials, equipment, and supplies as needed to support grounds maintenance activities.
  • Resolve Work Problems, Provide Technical Advice, and Recommend Measures to Improve Productivity and Product Quality: You will be responsible for resolving work problems, providing technical advice, and recommending measures to improve productivity and product quality.
  • Establish Work Schedules and Procedures: You will be responsible for establishing work schedules and procedures to ensure that grounds maintenance activities are completed efficiently and effectively.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
  • Work Setting: Various locations
  • Security and Safety: Basic security clearance
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, combination of sitting, standing, walking, standing for extended periods
  • Work Term: Permanent
  • Work Language: English
  • Hours: 40 hours per week
