Product Design Manager

We're seeking a seasoned Product Design Manager to lead our design team and drive the creation of exceptional user experiences. As a key member of our product organization, you'll be responsible for guiding our design team to simplify complexity and deliver innovative solutions.
As a design leader, you'll partner with product management, UX research, and engineering leadership to drive discovery, strategy, and execution. You'll also be responsible for managing designers, mentoring, and inspiring them to deliver high-quality research and design work.

Key Responsibilities- Lead design across multiple product areas, including Feature Flags, Push, Content Cards, and In-App Messaging channels.
- Manage a team of product designers, providing coaching, mentoring, and guidance to ensure high-quality design work.
- Partner with product management, UX research, and engineering leadership to drive discovery, strategy, and execution.
- Identify and operationalize overlapping efforts across product teams to ensure consistency for Braze customers.
- Regularly collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Research disciplines within and across departments.
- Recruit, interview, and hire candidates for your team and across the design org.
- Ensure operational efficiency and accountability for design within your team.
- Serve as both design advocate and ambassador of the user experience.
- 5+ years of design and/or front-end development experience combined.
- At least 2 years of experience managing direct reports.
- Penchant for understanding complex problems and products; unafraid to discuss technical feasibility and long-term planning.
- Clear, concise, and cogent communicator.
- Structured thinker who uses frameworks to bring structure to projects.
- Organized and thorough; habitually documents and double-checks work.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and learning through experimentation.
- Experience spearheading user research and/or working closely with UX researchers.
