We're seeking a seasoned Product Design Manager to lead our design team and drive the creation of exceptional user experiences. As a key member of our product organization, you'll be responsible for guiding our design team to simplify complexity and deliver innovative solutions.
As a design leader, you'll partner with product management, UX research, and engineering leadership to drive discovery, strategy, and execution. You'll also be responsible for managing designers, mentoring, and inspiring them to grow in their careers.
Key Responsibilities- Lead design across multiple product areas, including Feature Flags, Push, Content Cards, and In-App Messaging channels.
- Manage a team of product designers, providing coaching and guidance to maintain high design quality.
- Contribute to the vision and strategy of the product teams, working with divisional leadership to establish overarching product strategies and process improvements.
- Identify and operationalize overlapping efforts across product teams to ensure consistency for Braze customers.
- Collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering, and Research disciplines within and across departments.
- Recruit, interview, and hire candidates for your team and across the design org.
- Ensure operational efficiency and accountability for design within your team.
- Serve as a design advocate and ambassador of the user experience.
- 5+ years of design and/or front-end development experience combined.
- At least 2 years of experience managing direct reports.
- Strong understanding of complex problems and products, with the ability to discuss technical feasibility and long-term planning.
- Clear, concise, and cogent communication skills.
- Structured thinking, with the ability to use frameworks to bring structure to projects.
- Organized and thorough, with a habit of documenting and double-checking work.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and learning through experimentation.
- Experience spearheading user research and/or working closely with UX researchers.
