About the Opportunity

The University of Toronto's Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to fill a permanent full-time Anatomical Pathology position in our centre. The successful applicant must be eligible for an academic appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Professor at the University of Toronto.

About the Role

The successful candidate will provide excellence in our surgical pathology diagnostic clinical practice with a subspecialty focus in Gastrointestinal Pathology. Participation in frozen section diagnosis, after-hours call and the autopsy service is expected. The successful candidate will also contribute to the academic mission of the Department, via participation in collaborative research, undergraduate teaching and residency training programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide excellence in surgical pathology diagnostic clinical practice with a subspecialty focus in Gastrointestinal Pathology
  • Participate in frozen section diagnosis, after-hours call and the autopsy service
  • Contribute to the academic mission of the Department, via participation in collaborative research, undergraduate teaching and residency training programs

Requirements

  • Eligibility for medical licensure in the province of Ontario
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Anatomic, Clinical or General Pathology
  • Eligibility for an academic appointment in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology
  • Fellowship training or demonstrated subspecialty expertise/commitment
