Job Overview

Clinical Resource Team Manager

Reporting to the Program Director, the Clinical Resource Team Manager is responsible for the ongoing development, execution, and continuous improvement of staffing and support systems for multiple sites. This role is integral to the management team, overseeing the clinical resource team and externs, which includes recruitment, performance oversight, and daily operations. The Manager collaborates closely with the Program Director, various departmental leaders, and key interdisciplinary members throughout the organization to ensure program support that prioritizes quality care and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide backup support to facilitate patient flow across all Mackenzie Health locations and affiliated external facilities.
  • Lead recruitment efforts, performance management, and daily operational needs of the Clinical Resource Team and Extern Mentor Coordinators.
  • Oversee staff scheduling and daily assignments while assessing educational needs to ensure staff competency.
  • Evaluate ongoing staffing requirements based on workload and staff capabilities; reassign and adjust staffing as necessary.
  • Monitor and respond promptly to quality, safety, risk, and other performance indicators.
  • Support teams and provide leadership to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Communicate with Clinical Educators regarding further learning needs and provide updates on new hires' progress.
  • Collaborate with Professional Practice to review scope of practice and ongoing educational opportunities.
  • Offer continuous feedback and coaching to staff members.
  • Foster effective inter-professional relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Identify challenges and monitor trends requiring targeted interventions and adjustments in practice.
  • Create an environment that promotes professional practice, teamwork, and communication through mentoring and role modeling of clinical expertise.
  • Support MHelps programs with staffing and ensure resources meet established targets.
  • Prepare management reports addressing program challenges and budget variances, including strategies to align resources with patient needs.

  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with all members of the inter-professional team.
  • Demonstrate the ability to coach, mentor, and provide constructive feedback while fostering a positive workplace culture.

Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or a related field.
  • Registered Nurse Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Minimum of 5 years of recent acute clinical experience in an acute care setting.
  • 3-5 years of leadership or management experience.

Additional Skills

  • Knowledge of staffing plans and operational staffing requirements.
  • Familiarity with various unions and collective agreements.
  • Understanding of scheduling guidelines.
  • Experience in generating reports and establishing daily deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Nursing or a related healthcare or leadership field, completed or in progress.
