Job Title: Clinical Resource Team Manager

Mackenzie Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Resource Team Manager to join our team. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for the ongoing development, implementation, and continuous enhancements of the staffing and supports of MHelps for 3 sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Program Director, various Managers, and other key interdisciplinary members across the organization to ensure support to programs focusing on quality care and patient safety.
  • Lead the recruitment, performance management, and daily requirements of the Clinical Resource Team, and Clinical externs and Extern Mentor Coordinators.
  • Oversee and coordinate the staff schedules, daily assignment, while assessing staff educational needs and ensuring staff are competent.
  • Assess ongoing staffing needs according to workload and staff competency; re-assign and adjusts staffing based upon organizational and unit needs.
  • Monitor and respond timely to quality, safety, risk, and other performance/outcome indicators.
  • Provide leadership and support to teams.
  • Inform Clinical Educators of further learning needs and provide updates on new hires' progress.
  • Cultivate effective inter-professional relationships at all levels.
  • Identify issues and challenges; monitor trends requiring targeted interventions and change in practice patterns or processes.
  • Create an environment that supports and advances professional practice, teamwork, and communication through mentoring and role modeling application of 'expert' clinical knowledge.
  • Support the MHelps programs with staffing and ensuring supports to meet targets.
  • Complete management reports addressing program issues and variance from approved budget, including strategies to match available resources with patient need, as required.
  • Role model professional and organizational core competencies.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with all members of the inter-professional team.
  • Capability to coach, mentor, and provide feedback while fostering a positive work culture.
  • Ability to support the clinical team in a professional manner.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve clinical and staffing issues with the support of the Program Director.
  • Excellent critical thinking, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong customer-focused philosophy in all interactions.
  • Solid computer skills; experience with relevant healthcare applications.
  • Monitor performance and take appropriate action to respond to performance management issues on a timely basis, according to Hospital policies and procedures and relevant legislation and liaise with Human Resources as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate understanding of, and compliance with, responsibilities under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and the organization's health and safety plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Demonstrate understanding of, compliance with, and commitment to, patient safety responsibilities and corresponding hospital plans, policies, and procedures in order to ensure a safe environment for patients.
  • Strong ability to effectively manage conflict with a proven ability to address issues while maintaining productive relationships.
  • Leadership experience with evidence-based healthcare initiatives designed to improve health service delivery with a demonstrated understanding of local health issues, priorities, and needs.
  • Ability to interpret data and translate into effective and appropriate health program development.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with an ability to understand, analyze, and report on complex information in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated understanding of change management theory with an ability to effectively manage the change process and fostering a culture of change.
  • Excellent time management and work prioritization skills with an ability to effectively manage multiple high-impact priorities.
  • Communicate in an effective, professional manner.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
  • Work collaboratively with the Program Leaders and taking joint accountability for achieving performance targets, managing risk, improving quality and safety, and advancing patient care outcomes, under the direction of the Program Director.
  • Work collaboratively with other leaders in reducing waste, adding value, raising standards, improving effectiveness, and delivering high performance.

Requirements:
  • Completion of Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or related field.
  • Registered Nurse Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Minimum 5 years, recent, acute clinical experience within acute care.
  • 3-5 years leadership/Management experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Sound knowledge on staffing plans and operational staffing needs.
  • Knowledge on various unions and collective agreements.
  • Knowledge in scheduling guidelines.
  • Knowledge on setting up reports and setting daily deliverables to meet.
