Position Overview:

The Procure to Pay (P2P) Analyst plays a vital role within the Supply Chain Service Center (SSC), reporting directly to a Team Lead. This position is dedicated to managing a portfolio that supports the procurement of materials and services for various Business Units. Key responsibilities include engaging with partners and vendors, investigating issues, and executing transactions such as Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders (PO) throughout their lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with P2P standards and Cenovus policies during all activities.
  • Create purchase requisitions based on defined requirements to support Business Unit operations. Monitor requisition approvals and implement necessary changes.
  • Conduct analysis of Business Unit expenditures and provide recommendations on appropriate PO values.
  • Track contract expiration dates and collaborate with Category Management on renewal timelines or suggest exception code usage.
  • Generate and authorize purchase orders in accordance with established authority limits.
  • Attach necessary documentation to requisitions and/or Purchase Orders.
  • Oversee the approval process for purchase orders and ensure timely transmission to suppliers.
  • Manage the purchase order lifecycle, addressing invoice discrepancies, reconciling Goods Received/Invoice Received variances, facilitating vendor payments, and closing purchase orders promptly.
  • Confirm the receipt of all material Purchase Orders to guarantee timely, accurate deliveries.
  • Support multiple Business Units by addressing inquiries through various communication channels.
  • Engage with vendors to resolve issues via email and phone communication.
  • Ensure accurate creation of purchase orders, including tax code assignments, payment terms, delivery dates, and cost object alignments.
  • Investigate and rectify invoice issues with third-party automated payment systems.
  • Provide training and mentorship to Procurement Administrators.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in Procure to Pay during cross-functional projects and discussions.
  • Offer backup support for leadership and P2P Advisors during absences.

Candidate Profile:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • Undergraduate degree in a technical or business-related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant business field.
  • Familiarity with procure to pay processes and accounts payable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Supply Chain Management.
  • Experience in a service center environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel and reporting tools.
