Job Title: Pastry Cook 1

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Pastry Cook to join our culinary team at Fairmont Pacific Rim. As a Pastry Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of pastries, desserts, and other sweet treats in accordance with Fairmont standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and bake dough, cookies, muffins, sponges, custards, meringues, mousse, icing, and other pastries
  • Store and handle all baked goods in a safe and efficient manner
  • Assist with plating for banquet functions, outlet orders, and day-to-day production
  • Understand basic Pastry Kitchen terminology and maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food
  • Ensure that all food products are handled, stored, prepared, and served safely in accordance with hotel and Food Safety guidelines

Requirements:

  • Creative and passionate about food and customer service
  • Able to work in a high-pressure environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
