Position Overview

The Care Team Assistant plays a vital role in delivering direct, hands-on support tailored to the needs of patients and the specific program or unit. Reporting to the Health Services Manager and collaborating with regulated health professionals, this position is integral to the collaborative care team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with their daily living activities and instrumental tasks.
  • Support patient and family education in accordance with established guidelines and care plans.
  • Work closely with a diverse team to ensure high-quality care delivery.

Qualifications

We invite candidates who possess the following:

  • Completion of a Continuing Care Assistant Program.
  • Provincial Certification with the Department of Health and Wellness, including registration with the CCA Registry.
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification.
  • Strong listening and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in additional languages is advantageous, with a preference for French.

Additional Information

In cases where no applicants hold provincial certification, candidates eligible to take the CCA knowledge exam may be considered, provided they obtain certification within one year of hire.

Work Schedule

  • Full-time, long-term assignment; approximately 75 hours bi-weekly.
  • Expected duration of one year.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly wage for this position is $25.70. Successful candidates may qualify for a comprehensive benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance, along with a defined benefit pension plan.
