We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Care Team Assistant to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing direct, hands-on care to patients and supporting their activities of daily living.
The successful candidate will work under the supervision of regulated health professionals and will be responsible for:
- Providing patient care and support based on individual needs and program/unit requirements
- Assisting patients with activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living
- Reinforcing patient and family teaching according to established guidelines and the plan of care
We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and is committed to working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will require:
- Continuing Care Assistant Program certification
- Provincial certification with the Department of Health and Wellness
- Current Basic Life Support Certification
- Effective listening and communication skills
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
We encourage applicants who are eligible to write the CCA knowledge exam and obtain certification within 1 year from their date of hire to apply.
Hours and CompensationThis is a permanent part-time position with 90% of 67.5 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $25.70.
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
