About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Service Supervisor to join our team at Karahi Boys. As a Food Service Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our food service establishment, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and that our food meets the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and Implement Operational Procedures

Develop and implement effective operational procedures to ensure the smooth running of our food service establishment. This includes establishing methods to meet work schedules, requisitioning food and kitchen supplies, and supervising and coordinating the activities of staff who prepare and portion food.

Lead and Train a Team

Train and supervise a team of food service staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating their performance. Ensure that staff are knowledgeable about our menu, ingredients, and cooking methods, and that they provide exceptional customer service.

Manage Inventory and Supplies

Manage inventory and supplies, including estimating ingredient and supply requirements, maintaining records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage, and preparing and submitting reports.

Ensure Quality and Safety Standards

Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards, including maintaining a clean and safe work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations, and ensuring that staff are aware of and follow proper food handling and preparation procedures.

Communicate with Customers and Staff

Communicate effectively with customers and staff, including addressing customer complaints or concerns, providing feedback and coaching to staff, and maintaining a positive and respectful work environment.

Requirements
  • Education

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.

Experience

7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a food service establishment.

Skills and Abilities

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, attention to detail, and ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.

Certifications and Training

Cultural competency training and awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers, visible minorities, and youth.
