About the Role

Gordon Food Service is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Customer Service Representative to join our team. As a key member of our sales department, you will play a vital role in supporting the activities of our outside District Sales Representatives (DSRs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers via phone, email, and other communication channels.
  • Support DSRs with order and delivery interactions, including processing customer requests and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Identify growth opportunities with existing customers and develop strategies to strengthen relationships and drive account growth.
  • Collaborate with other departments to meet customer needs, including internal reporting and customer record keeping.
  • Participate in sales meetings, promotions, and food show registration, and assist with recall and other information sharing as required.
  • Take orders from customers via phone or email, and stay up-to-date with product offerings, market trends, and customer needs.
  • Demonstrate strong customer service skills, even in unique or difficult situations.
  • Provide support to DSRs during special events, such as vacation coverage and seasonal needs.
  • Assist with routing changes, such as time delays and adjustments in delivery days.
  • Detail customer complaints, track recurring issues, and report problems as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Excellent customer service and time management skills.
  • Ability to perform 10-key data entry.
  • Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Highly organized with a great attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strategic thinking, inquisitiveness, innovation, and creativity to build relationships, network, link resources, and apply business practices.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently or within a team environment.
  • Ability to learn and use various systems, including Genysis, Powersell, CRM, and Gordon Ordering.
