Infrastructure Superintendent – Construction Management

Position Overview:

Our client, a prominent general contractor, is seeking a Superintendent to join their civil and infrastructure division. This role offers a competitive salary based on experience and is part of a dynamic team focused on various projects including sewers, watermains, transportation, and environmental remediation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage construction projects in alignment with contract specifications and industry standards.
  • Ensure safety compliance across all labor forces, including subcontractors.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, including safety documentation and maintenance logs.
  • Enforce project safety and quality-control measures.
  • Coordinate construction crews, equipment, and materials while fostering positive relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Analyze project specifications and drawings to develop construction plans and schedules.
  • Monitor project sites to ensure adherence to standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to address design challenges and recommend solutions.
  • Attend and occasionally lead project meetings to support ongoing initiatives.
  • Review cost reports with Project Managers to identify budget discrepancies and propose corrective actions.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering (Civil preferred) or Construction Management with relevant civil experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years in civil construction.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
