Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Superintendent to join our team in the lower mainland. The successful candidate will have a background in utilities, deep foundations, concrete, roadworks, and structural steel. As a key member of our Infrastructure division, you will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement project plans and schedules to ensure timely completion.
  • Oversee site safety measures to meet or exceed corporate safety standards.
  • Manage and maintain company vehicles and equipment to maximize use on the job site.
  • Review and approve subtrade/supplier invoices and report discrepancies to the Project Manager.
  • Hire and manage hourly employees as required to complete the project.
  • Prepare field change orders and work with coordinators/engineers to craft and submit RFI's.
  • Develop and implement resource loaded 3 week look ahead schedules that meet the overall Project schedule.

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of construction supervision experience.
  • Previous experience as a GF, Superintendent or similar direct supervisory role.
  • Combination of work experience in a similar role and industry-related trade certification/education.
  • Solid understanding of modern construction practices.
  • Ability to plan and manage to a project schedule.
  • Understanding of construction documents and the ability to ensure they are complete and protect the owner's interest.
  • Contract negotiation/management skills.
  • Knowledge of construction costs and budgets.
  • A strong safety record and the ability to work with a variety of individuals.
  • Capacity to understand and interpret stakeholder needs and identify solutions to non-routine tasks or queries.
  • Ability to adapt information and communication style to the audience.
  • Skilled at promoting teamwork to establish consensus among team and stakeholders.
