About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team at Matheson Sweets & Catering. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading our kitchen operations and ensuring the highest quality of food is served to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
  • Develop and implement new cooking techniques and equipment training for our cooking staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Create innovative and delicious recipes that meet our quality standards and exceed customer expectations.
  • Supervise and mentor our kitchen staff, including sous-chefs, specialist chefs, and cooks, to ensure they are working efficiently and effectively.
  • Plan and execute menus that meet our quality standards and cater to the diverse tastes and dietary requirements of our customers.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to food safety and handling procedures.
  • Collaborate with our management team to develop and implement new menu ideas and promotions.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain attention to detail.
  • Physical stamina to work in a physically demanding environment.
