Senior Process Engineer

The Senior Process Engineer will play a key role in supporting the operations, maintenance, and technical services departments at the Lloydminster Refinery. This position is responsible for providing process engineering support to ensure safe and efficient operation of the facility. The successful candidate will lead the development of project front-end scopes, oversee special projects, and manage outsourced engineering work.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of project front-end scopes, including high-level cost estimates and economic assessments
- Oversee and direct special projects, such as debottlenecking initiatives, to optimize plant performance and efficiency
- Manage and provide guidance for outsourced engineering work, including process optimization and scoping studies
- Collaborate closely with the Technical Services team to provide expert review and sizing of upgraded or replacement equipment
- Develop and oversee the creation of design case simulations for both brownfield and greenfield facilities
- Provide strategic oversight and support for the implementation and sustainment of COIMS projects
- Champion process safety by maintaining and updating Process Safety Information and leading Over Pressure Protection System by Design reviews
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or an equivalent engineering field with professional designation with APEGA or APEGS
- Minimum of 8-12 years of experience in operations or process engineering within an industrial facility
- Strong leadership in personal and process safety, with the ability to lead and complete multidisciplinary initiatives efficiently
- Proficiency and experience with SAP and refining simulation software such as Aspentech or Petrosim
