About this OpportunityThe Senior Process Engineer will provide process engineering support to operations, maintenance, and technical services departments. This role requires a strong understanding of process engineering principles, with the ability to interpret operating data and identify areas for improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of project front-end scopes, including high-level cost estimates, economic assessments, and business justifications
- Oversee and direct special projects and sophisticated studies to optimize plant performance and efficiency
- Manage and provide guidance for outsourced engineering work, including process optimization and scoping studies
- Collaborate closely with the Technical Services team to provide expert review, sizing, and specification of upgraded or replacement equipment
- Develop and oversee the creation of design case simulations for both brownfield and greenfield facilities
- Provide strategic oversight and support for the implementation and sustainment of COIMS projects
- Champion process safety by maintaining and updating Process Safety Information and leading Over Pressure Protection System by Design reviews
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering (or an equivalent engineering field) with professional designation with APEGA or APEGS (or eligibility for professional designation)
- Minimum of 8-12 years of experience in operations or process engineering within an industrial facility
- Strong understanding of relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASME B31.3, Section VIII, ABSA, CSA B51)
- Proficiency and experience with SAP is an asset
- Experience with refining simulation software such as Aspentech or Petrosim, or equivalent
- Strong leadership in personal and process safety, with the ability to lead and complete multidisciplinary initiatives efficiently
