About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead Software Engineer to join our team at the LCBO (Liquor Control Board of Ontario). As a key member of our Supply Chain Technology team, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical direction and evolution of our Transportation IT capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance and expertise to senior IT leaders, business professionals, and software engineers on best-in-class practices for logistics systems.
  • Coach and oversee the technical work of developers, ensuring that work is completed following industry and LCBO standards.
  • Analyze business information systems requirements to design new applications, including data transformations and programs for automatic correction of erroneous data.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to define technical specifications and oversee the development of high-quality documentation.
  • Provide strategy for knowledge transfer to ensure team members can support software and solve complex technical problems.
  • Design test scenarios to validate that testing aligns to outcomes.

About You:

  • 10+ years of experience in distribution and a post-secondary education in Systems, Business processes, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field combined.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or equivalent experience in Engineering, Computer Science, or another technical related field.
  • Experience in Transportation and Supply Chain systems and networks.
  • Expert technical understanding of Transportation IT systems, including all data flows and business processes, SOPs.
  • Expertise with Transportation management systems, including SAP- S/4HANA, Routing Tools, PC Millers, Descartes solutions, Manhattan, Blue Yonder, and others.
  • Ability to decompose problems, plan, test, and determine the effectiveness of solutions.
  • Knowledge of best practices and ability to apply them to solutions, as well as identify latest technologies that may benefit Logistics / Transportation operations.
  • Experience managing execution and high-quality product delivery.
