Job Description

Job Title: Technical Lead, Software Engineering

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead, Software Engineering to join our team at the LCBO (Liquor Control Board of Ontario). As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical direction and evolution of our Transportation IT capabilities, including support to imports, middle mile, outbound, and last mile deliveries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and oversee the activities of the implementation of Transportation system transformation, strategies, and programs.
  • Work with Directors and Managers from IT and Business Teams to ensure the proactive adherence process of all Supply Chain technology applications.
  • Provide technical guidance, advice, and domain expertise to senior IT leaders, business professionals, and other software engineers.
  • Coach other IT staff and oversee technical work of all developers, including analysis, development of documentation, and testing components.
  • Analyze current and new business information systems requirements to design new applications, including data transformations and programs.
  • Communicate with appropriate groups/parties to define technical specifications.
  • Oversee the development and create high-quality documentation for related applications/programs.
  • Provide strategy for knowledge transfer to ensure team members can support software.
  • Solve complex technical problems that cross application boundaries and technical layers.
  • Design test scenarios in collaboration with developers and testing SMEs to validate that testing aligns to outcomes.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in distribution and a post-secondary education in Systems, Business processes, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field combined.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or equivalent experience in Engineering, Computer Science, or another technical related field.
  • Experience in Transportation and Supply Chain systems and networks.
  • Expert technical understanding of Transportation IT systems, including all data flows and business processes, SOPs.
  • Expertise with Transportation management systems, including SAP- S/4HANA, Routing Tools, PC Millers, Descartes solutions, Manhattan, Blue Yonder, and others.
  • Expertise in decomposing problems, planning, testing, and determining the effectiveness of the solution.
  • Ability to keep up to date on best practices and apply them to solutions.
  • Experience managing execution and high-quality product delivery.
